Shipping policy

At Melt Chocolates, we take pride in the quality of our products and are committed to ensuring they arrive in perfect condition. To achieve this, we’ve created the following shipping policy.

General Shipping Information

Melt Chocolates exclusively ships with FedEx to ensure reliability and efficiency. Our daily cutoff time for shipment is 4:00 PM CT, and we are able to drop packages at the MKE Airport FedEx location until 8:00 PM CT. Same-day shipping is not available.

• We currently ship to U.S. addresses only and cannot ship to P.O. boxes.
  
• We only ship orders on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday to help ensure your chocolate arrives in perfect condition. This avoids weekend delays that could compromise product quality.
• Orders placed after our Wednesday shipping cutoff will ship the following Monday (or next business day) to maintain freshness and prevent transit-related issues.
• Please provide a complete and accurate shipping address, including street address, company name, suite, or apartment number, if applicable, to avoid delivery issues.
  
• A $50 fee applies to modify a shipping address once a package has shipped.
• All orders ship insured. Shipping rates shown at checkout include insurance and are paid by the customer.
• We offer free shipping for orders from $250.00 to $499.99. Orders $500.00 or more will have a bulk shipping rate applied. 

Order Processing

• Order Review: We strongly recommend reviewing your order before submission, as changes cannot be made after an order is placed.
  
• Processing Time: Orders are usually processed within 48 hours of placement.
  
• Order Confirmation: After placing your order, you will receive a confirmation email. Once processed, you’ll receive a second email with tracking details.
  
• Shipping Schedule: We ship orders on Monday through Wednesday to avoid weekend delays, but labels can be created 7 days a week. Please refer to your tracking link for updates.

In Store Pick Up

We’re thrilled to offer in-store pickup for your convenience!

• How It Works: Orders placed online can be picked up at our store during business hours. Orders are typically ready within 24 hours of receipt.
  
• Non-Business Hours: Orders placed outside business hours will be ready the next day we are open.
  
• Payment Policy: Credit card payments cannot be accepted over the phone. All purchases must be completed online or in person.

Available Shipping Options

Standard 2-Day Shipping (October - April)

Available Monday through Wednesday to eligible zip codes in the lower 48 states. If your ZIP code qualifies, the standard shipping option will appear during checkout.

• Rates: FedEx rates are passed directly to customers and vary by package dimensions, weight, and destination. Deliveries to residential addresses may include a surcharge.

Seasonal Shipping Pause (June - September)

Shipping is paused during the summer months to protect our chocolates from heat damage. This ensures your chocolates arrive in the best possible condition.

International Shipping

Yes, we offer international shipping! Please email us with details of your order to receive rates and shipping options.

Shipping Responsibilities

Melt Chocolates is not responsible for:

• Shipping delays caused by FedEx or circumstances outside of our control, even when shipped via 2-day service.
• Damaged products caused by shipping delays or mishandling by the carrier that are outside of our control.
• Incorrect or outdated shipping addresses provided by the customer.
  
• Shipment is delivered to the wrong address
• Recipient unavailable to accept the package.
  
• Customer failure to provide an updated delivery address within 24 hours of the first delivery attempt.

Packages returned or requiring rerouting due to address errors will incur additional charges for reshipment or relabeling.

We highly recommend shipping to an address where someone will be available to receive the package.

Shipping Cutoff Times

• Orders placed after 4:00 PM CT on Wednesday will be processed and shipped the following Monday.
  
• All shipping timelines refer to business days only. Saturday delivery is not available.

Holiday Shipping

Melt Chocolates does not ship the following days:

• New Year's Day and New Year's Day Observed
• Memorial Day
• July 4th and July 4th Observed
• Labor Day
• Day before Thanksgiving
• Thanksgiving Day
• Day after Thanksgiving
• Christmas Eve
• Christmas Day and Christmas Day Observed
